The directors of seven Serbian institutions in the Gračanica area were released from detention today and are required to report to a police station until June 19 of this year, attorney Bogdan Hadži-Lazić, defense counsel for Nebojša Rašić, the director of the school in Preoce, confirmed to RTS.

By decision of the Basic Court, Milica Dimić, Boban Petrović, Nebojša Rašić, Bratislav Lazić, Saša Mladenović, Mirjana Dimitrijević, and Ljubiša Karadžić were released. They will defend themselves from freedom, but with the obligation to report to the police.

On May 21, the Basic Court in Priština accepted the prosecution’s request and ordered detention of up to thirty days for the seven directors of Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija, who are suspected of allegedly influencing voters ahead of the elections held on June 7 in Kosovo and Metohija.

Due to their arrest and detention, employees of healthcare and educational institutions operating under the system of the Government of Serbia in the territory of the Municipality of Gračanica held peaceful protests every day, demanding their release.

On suspicion of allegedly influencing voters, Aleksandar Trajković from Ugljare near Kosovo Polje was also arrested and ordered into one-month detention.

On election day, two Serbs were arrested in Goraždevac. They were placed under house arrest.
