Another citizen protest was held today in Loznica due to the government’s intention to allow the opening of a lithium mine in the Jadar Valley.
Organized by the Alliance of Ecological Organizations of Serbia (SEOS), the protest in Loznica began just after 5 pm in front of the City Assembly. In addition to citizens and environmental activists, representatives of opposition parties and movements were also present. Once again, the message was clear:
“You won’t mine.”
A 92-year-old grandpa Rade, who traveled by bicycle, also came to the protest against lithium mining in Loznica, and it took him almost six hours.

“I came to the protest by bike. This is my second time. I was there the first time too. I come from Šašinci, it’s between Ruma and Sremska Mitrovica. I left this morning around 9:50 and arrived at 4:30”, he said in an interview with N1.
As he says, he is 92 years old and came to defend “what can be defended.”
When asked by N1 if he believes that mining will not happen, he said that he “believes in himself and in Kokanović.”
