While most of his peers can’t wait for summer to play and rest, Veljko Petrović (10) from Loznica has a different wish – to spend as much time as possible with his dad in the car repair shop.
“I love it when we fix something. Dad shows me, and I immediately want to do it myself. Most of all, I love it when we work on tractors!” says Veljko, holding a grease-stained tool with a wide smile, like a real assistant.
His dad, Milan Petrović, proudly says:
“He showed interest from an early age. He wasn’t interested in drawing or games like other kids – he wants a wrench, he wants to see how things work. Now he can already change an oil filter, prepare tools, hand me everything I need. He’s skilled and careful, which is most important to me.”
While many are planning the seaside and pools, Veljko is already “at work,” happy to learn alongside his father, among screws, engines, and the sound of work. His summer vacation smells of machine oil – and of love for a true, artisanal calling.
