On the section of the road between Ruma and Irig this morning around 7 o’clock, an unprecedented tragedy occurred in which, according to initial information, one person lost their life in a horrific way, while another sustained life-threatening injuries in a head-on collision between two trucks.
“Telegraf” reporters from the field report that the scene at the accident site is eerie. Only the charred wreckage remains of the truck that caught fire after the violent crash, while the smell of burning spreads everywhere. Black soot is visible on the asphalt, and the motionless body of the deceased driver is still located next to the destroyed freighter.
All emergency services immediately rushed to the scene of this severe accident, and the drama lasted for minutes. The second truck suffered horrific damage, and the driver remained trapped in the crumpled metal sheet.
By a fast, lion-like, and extremely efficient reaction of the firefighters-rescuers, who cut the crushed cabin, an even greater tragedy was prevented. They managed to pull out the second driver before the flames engulfed his vehicle as well.
The injured man is in serious condition and life-endangered, urgently handed over to the Emergency Medical Service team, which transported him for resuscitation.
On this section of the road, traffic is completely suspended and has been redirected to alternative routes. The police and the duty prosecutor are conducting an investigation to determine what led to this horrific collision, while firefighting teams continue to secure the area.
