Serbian shooter Aleksa Rakonjac won the silver medal at the World Cup in Granada in the air rifle discipline. Rakonjac (21), the 2025 junior European champion, won his first senior medal at major competitions in individual Olympic disciplines in Spain.
Lihao Sheng from China won the gold with 253.9 rings, Rakonjac was second with 253 rings, and Victor Lindgren from Sweden had 230.9 rings, thus reaching the bronze.
“I am very happy to have opened the season in this way, in which, like the others, my main goal is the World Championship in Doha, where the first Olympic quotas will be distributed. I managed to maintain a high level of shots from the beginning to the end of the final. When it became clear that I was winning a medal, I was more relieved; I tried to catch up to and overtake the leader Sheng, I didn’t succeed, but I am very satisfied even with the silver,” said Rakonjac, as reported by the Serbian Shooting Sport Federation.
In addition to Rakonjac, Aleksandra Havran also competed today at the World Cup in the eliminations of the 50m rifle 3 positions, which she successfully finished as sixth in her group, hitting 590 rings, and continues the competition in the qualifications tomorrow.
