Students in blockade will begin their walk from Belgrade to Novi Sad on October 30 in memory and solidarity with the victims of the roof collapse, announced the students in blockade on their Instagram page.
As they added, due to the unprecedented number of registered participants – more than 4,000 students and high schoolers – organizing this march represents a major logistical and safety challenge.
“Our team is doing everything possible to ensure safety, accommodation, and basic conditions for all those who will walk. Because of this, we ask all citizens who wish to join the column to do so independently, with their own accommodation and logistics arranged, since as students, we unfortunately cannot take responsibility for everyone. Otherwise, we appeal to you not to embark on this endeavor,” said the students.
They thanked all citizens who support them every day.
“It will be an honor for us if you greet us at the resting points, so that we can share a hug, a smile, and strength to continue the journey, and that you save your energy for the gathering on November 1,” the students stated.
The students announced a large commemorative gathering on November 1 in Novi Sad to mark the anniversary of the roof collapse.
Students from the State University in Novi Pazar have already started their journey toward Novi Sad and will walk for a total of 16 days in honor of 16 victims. They arrived at Divčibare last night.
