Russia sent over 700 drones to Ukraine last night, significantly more than in previous attacks over the past two weeks.

With 728 drones and 13 missiles, this Russian attack involved the highest number of drones engaged in a single night during the war. On Friday, Russia sent 550 drones, less than a week after launching 477, which was the highest number at the time, officials said.

Russia is attempting to break through Ukraine’s air defenses with massive attacks. The latest assault appeared to aim at disrupting Ukraine’s vital supply of Western weapons, AP writes.

The city of Lutsk, home to airports used by the Ukrainian military, was the hardest hit, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

It is located in western Ukraine, near the Polish border, and this area is a crucial hub for receiving foreign military aid.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that their forces targeted Ukrainian air bases and that all designated targets were hit. Meanwhile, Ukraine sent drones to Russia overnight, killing three people, officials said.
