The Rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Đokić, as well as the Deans of the Faculty of Political Sciences and the Faculty of Physics, Maja Kovačević and Voja Radovanović, have demanded an end to the media lynching of the university community and that peace, tolerance, and dignity be returned to lecture halls and daily life.
In a message published on the Instagram account of the students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in blockade, Đokić, Kovačević, and Radovanović reminded the public that an unprecedented witch hunt against students and professors has been ongoing for months.
Students have been subjected to harassment, attacks, and arrests without cause, the professors added, stating that the university’s autonomy was brutally violated by the incursion of gendarmes and the deployment of tear gas inside the faculty.
