On the day of what is expected to be one of the largest protests in Serbia’s history, the president of the republic is visiting EXPO. While a massive demonstration unfolds in the capital, the government acts as if everything is normal.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali visited the EXPO construction site on Saturday morning (March 15) and declared their vision of a Serbia that is building, progressing, and winning.

The president stated that Serbia will prevail today and always.

“People dream different dreams. I want a Serbia that builds, a Serbia that progresses, a Serbia that wins. Serbia will win today and always,” Vučić posted on Instagram.

“We are at EXPO, with more than 1,800 workers here at this moment. EXPO is on my right, and behind me is a residential complex, with hundreds of trucks and thousands of people working hard to build our Serbia,” Vučić emphasized.

He remarked that people have different dreams—some dream of tearing things and people down, while others dream of building.

“I believe that the majority of Serbia wants to build a better and more successful country. I am convinced that today we will withstand all pressures and attacks, and I believe we will maintain peace and stability. Then, we will continue to build and win in the future, just as we lifted Serbia from the ashes 13 years ago—now, we will propel it to unimaginable heights, making it the fastest-growing economy in Europe. Serbia must not stop. Long live Serbia!” Vučić declared.
