Kosovska Mitrovica, Kosovo – Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Commission for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, stated today after her visit to North Mitrovica that there are “many different narratives about the situation.”

She explained that one side tells one story, and the other tells something different, which is why it’s important to speak with people on the ground, “to see what more can be done to ensure a prosperous and secure future for everyone in Kosovo.”

Kossev.info reports that Kallas was at the Basic Court in North Mitrovica this morning and then met with the head of the school administration and school principals at the European House.

“It’s important to be here in northern Kosovo, because we see many different narratives and we are truly witnessing what is happening on the ground, what other people are saying,” Kallas said.

“I was in the court, and the court is, of course, working and waiting for the Serbian judges to return. I also met with school representatives to understand the situation and truly to talk to people and see with my own eyes what is happening. I spoke with KFOR, EULEX about what they see, and I think this is extremely important information for understanding the situation,” stated the EU High Representative.

Kaja Kallas departed from Pristina for Skopje, where she will conclude her Western Balkans tour after visiting Serbia and Kosovo.
