The leader of the Venezuelan opposition and Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado stated that the award represents “a tremendous recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans.”
María Corina Machado emphasized that she dedicates the award “to the people of Venezuela who are suffering, as well as to President Trump, for his steadfast support of our cause.”
“Recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is an incentive to complete our mission: achieving freedom. We are on the verge of victory, and today, more than ever, we count on President (of the U.S.) Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our main allies in achieving freedom and democracy,” wrote Corina Machado on the platform X.
The Nobel Committee announced that she received the award “for her tireless commitment to promoting the democratic rights of the people of Venezuela and for her fight for a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”
