Angelina Topić, a Serbian athlete, broke the national record and cleared two meters in the high jump event.
Angelina won the meeting in Banská Bystrica and at the same time wrote a new chapter in Serbia’s history.
Topić jumped flawlessly at the aforementioned meeting and easily cleared the following heights – 1.85, 1.90, 1.94 and 1.98 meters.
Then, after one failed attempt, came the jump over two meters, which delighted Dragutin Topić, her famous father and coach.
Behind the Serbian athlete in Banská Bystrica were Lamara Distin and Louise Ekman with a cleared height of 1.96 meters.
Angelina’s jump is currently the second-best result in 2026, as Yaroslava Mahuchikh remains at the top with 2.03 meters.
Let us recall, two weeks ago Topić also triumphed at the meeting in Belgrade, but at that time she cleared 1.96 meters.
