IVANA ŠPANOVIĆ TRIUMPHED IN SLOVAKIA: Serbian athlete won in the triple jump!

Španović came to the victory in Slovakia in the first round, when she achieved a result of 13.79 meters.

The competition was held on the town square, and the surface was on boards.

“In the announcement of the event, I said that we wanted to get as close as possible to the distance of 13.80 meters, which is Ivana’s best start to the season, and we succeeded in that. Everything was great, the series especially. In the first jump, she had a headwind stronger than two meters and did not reach the board, which itself is 20 centimeters wide, so it is clear that she is ready for much greater distances. I am very satisfied, because this was done from a 10-step approach, and her full one is 16,” said her coach Goran Obradović, as reported by the Serbian Athletics Federation.

Španović, who is the Serbian record holder in the long jump and the winner of 15 medals in this discipline at major competitions, has been competing in the triple jump since last year.

She is the owner of the new national indoor record (14.41 meters) and is among the top 10 in the world on the ranking list.

Španović will have her next appearance at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo on June 10.

“Then she will jump from 12 steps,” Obradović concluded.
