Italian pianist David Martello, who played yesterday on Niš bridges during the five-hour student blockade, has been expelled from Serbia.

Police, N1 has learned, gave Martello a deadline of three days to leave the territory of Serbia, i.e., no later than Wednesday, April 9th.

In the decision revoking the short-term stay of the Italian pianist in Serbia, the police stated that he entered our country on April 4th as a tourist, but that there is a well-founded suspicion that he will not use his stay for the stated purposes.

As a reminder, Martello played yesterday on Niš bridges during the blockade organized by students in the largest city in southern Serbia.

Before visiting Serbia, he went to Turkey, where protests against the government are also ongoing.

Martello announced on his social networks that he would come to visit people, and told people to make requests for what they wanted him to play. One female student approached him and asked for the “Imperial March” from Star Wars, which was also the first piece he played yesterday at the protest in Niš.
