Two people were killed and two were seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred in a western suburb of Chicago, police said.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Highland Avenue and 35th Street in Downers Grove.
According to initial information, one vehicle was turning when it was struck by another car. The driver and passenger of the turning vehicle died at the scene.
The driver and passenger from the other car sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Two heavily damaged vehicles were recorded at the scene, while part of Highland Avenue was closed during the police investigation.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
