Reza Pahlavi, grandson of the last Persian Shah (author’s note: Shah – Persian king of kings, i.e., emperor) and a man who hopes Washington might one day “restore him to the throne,” recently became the unwitting star of a rather uncomfortable, but highly entertaining episode by famous Russian pranksters.
The renowned Russian jokers managed to convince him that he was speaking with representatives of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Pahlavi, without much doubt, eagerly engaged in the conversation as if it were a genuine diplomatic contact.
This is the saddest video you will watch today. Russian pranksters trick Reza Pahlavi into believing they are representatives of German Chancellor Merz. The problem was that the “German representatives” made almost no effort to conceal that something was off. One spoke with a heavy Russian accent, while the other introduced himself—believe it or not—as Adolf! He even had a very recognizable “Hitler-style” mustache.
Despite these obvious warning signs, Pahlavi maintained the “seriousness” of the conversation, continuing to express political positions as if he were meeting with real European statesmen.
The situation became even more bizarre when the fake German officials announced that Germany, together with Israel and the U.S., would begin bombing Iran—several days before any actual conflict began.

Instead of questioning the authenticity of his interlocutors, Pahlavi endorsed the idea, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the United States and Israel were not “isolated in this crusade.”
The recording quickly spread online, with many viewers mocking the incident, commenting that someone aspiring to lead a country might need to recognize when they are speaking with real diplomats versus people pretending to be “Adolf” with a Russian accent.
Pahlavi’s reputation suffered a serious blow due to this prank, despite his numerous appearances in major media outlets and attempts to present himself as a legitimate potential future leader of Iran.
