Members of the Montenegro Mountain Rescue Service successfully located and safely evacuated five Israeli nationals who became lost overnight in the Savin Kuk area on Mount Durmitor.
The rescue operation was launched after a call for help was made through the 112 Operational and Communication Center of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue of Montenegro’s Ministry of the Interior, after which rescuers set out to search for the group.
Among the lost hikers were three minors, born in 2007, 2009, and 2014. After they were found, all five were safely escorted to safety, bringing the rescue operation to a successful conclusion.
The Mountain Rescue Service urged hikers to carefully plan their routes before heading into the mountains, monitor the weather forecast, and bring appropriate equipment.
“By acting responsibly, you protect your own safety and help ensure that the mountains remain a place for safe enjoyment,” the rescuers said.
