“ĐILAS’ LIST” IS GOING TO THE ELECTIONS AFTER ALL: Following the withdrawal of officials who backed the students, “European Serbia” submits signatures to the RIK!

Representatives of the “European Serbia” coalition submitted signatures of support for their electoral list to the Republic Electoral Commission after several officials from the parties making up the coalition withdrew their names from the list in recent days.

Coalition leaders said that more than 10,000 signatures had been collected, while the boxes containing the signatures were brought to the RIK, together with activists, by Marinika Tepić, Dragan Đilas, Zdravko Ponoš and Goran Ješić.

The submission of the signatures followed disagreements within the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) and the Serbia Centre party (SRCE) over whether to participate in the elections.

Borko Stefanović, Jelena Milošević, Vladimir Vrsajkov and Goran Petrović from the SSP withdrew their names from the “European Serbia” list and backed the Student List. Before them, Peđa Mitrović and Mila Popović had also withdrawn from the list.

Disagreements also arose within SRCE. Slobodan Petrović and Boško Šindić withdrew their names from the electoral list and announced that they would leave the party. Petrović publicly stated that he would support the Student List in the upcoming elections.

Despite the withdrawals, the “European Serbia” coalition continued with the electoral process and submitted its signatures to the Republic Electoral Commission.

The coalition consists of the Freedom and Justice Party, Serbia Centre and the Solidarity Movement, and when it was formed, its representatives listed European integration, the rule of law, media freedom, an independent judiciary and the fight against corruption among its key programmatic priorities.
