One person has died, and two are reported missing after a parking garage under construction in Philadelphia, USA, collapsed, stated the city’s mayor, Cherelle Parker.
Parker said that a part of the roof of the garage under construction collapsed on Wednesday and caused a “progressive collapse of connected sections across all seven levels,” reports AP.

According to her, the collapsed parking garage is owned by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and had all the necessary permits.
Parker stated that the search for the missing will continue, and the city will conduct an investigation into the collapse of the garage.

Philadelphia Fire Department Commissioner Jeffrey Thompson said that three people have been rescued from the ruins so far, one of whom died from their injuries.
Thompson said that the building is unstable and must be dismantled so that the entire structure can be searched.
