What an achievement! Angelina Topić won a bronze medal at the World High Jump Championship. The Serb jumped 1.97 on her first attempt and found herself on the podium with the Ukrainian Yaroslava Mahuchikh. The gold was won by the Australian Nicola Olyslagers with exactly 2.00 jumped, and with the same height, the silver went to the Pole Žozdik.

Angelina flew over 1.97 on her first attempt, which turned out to be enough for a bronze medal. She later failed three times on a 2.00 jump in the rain.

The Australian Nicola Olyslagers went over 2.00 on her first attempt and that was enough for the gold. Afterward, the Pole Žozdik also did it to great surprise, with a personal best, and moved Angelina to third place.

Fate was still kind to Angelina, because Mahuchikh failed both times at 2.02 and the medal ended up around the neck of the incredible 20-year-old Serb.

For Topić, this is the biggest success of her career, although she was a two-time European vice-champion in the senior category. This is also only the fifth medal in the history of Serbia at outdoor world championships.
