The 3×3 basketball national team of Serbia has a perfect third day behind them at the 3×3 Basketball World Cup, where they managed to defeat their opponents in both matches. First, the Eagles were better than Australia with 20:16, and then in the match for first place, they also beat Austria with 21:11.
On the first day, Serbia was better than Madagascar and Spain, which gave just the necessary momentum for this second competitive day for us. Also, what was quite interesting is that Spain, who is the reigning world champion, recorded two losses and was eliminated from the tournament.
Austria was first better than La Furia, and then Madagascar, who thus eliminated this opponent. Serbia played quite well against Australia for the major part of the match. Serbia led 13:8, and then they allowed the opponent to fully return to the match and tie at 15:15.
However, quality prevailed and Serbia celebrated. The best in this match were Nenad Nerandžić and Nemanja Barać with eight points each, Strahinja Stojačić added three, and Andreja Milutinović only one point. For Australia, Titsha was the best with seven points, Antonio added five.
Serbia then received great news, Spain was eliminated, and our selection played against Austria for the first place in the group.
Austria held on well at the beginning, after the first minute, but already in the third, our 3×3 basketball players managed to make the necessary advantage and separate themselves a bit more – 8:4, when Barać scored, then Stojačić for two points, and then Barać once more.
Austria tried to shake us with two-point shots, but Milutinović was fouled on a two-point shot and hit both times, and then Stojačić got a point on the second attempt. It was 14:8 after five minutes of play.
Austria tried again with two-point shots but failed, Nerandžić played good defense, and then Barać took matters into his own hands. He scored twice on a layup, only to bring the final 21:11 with points from free throws.
