The chairman of the Republican Party of Cook County, Aaron Del Mar, appointed Slobodan Bodo Jokić as the new Republican commissioner in the municipality of Maine. He will replace the long-time commissioner Jim Stinson in that position.

Slobodan Bodo Jokić is a businessman and a respected member of the Serbian community. He has been involved in politics for eight years as a member of the Republican Party and its chairman for Maine Township.

Del Mar pointed out that Jokić comes with rich experience in working with the community and great energy to strengthen the party in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

“Bodo Jokić is a proven community leader with a passion for strengthening our Republican Party and expanding our local presence. His dedication, energy, and vision will be a great advantage as we continue to build a stronger organization in Cook County,” Del Mar said.

He also thanked the outgoing commissioner Jim Stinson for, as he emphasized, his many years of honest and dedicated work for the benefit of the party.

“Jim Stinson served with integrity and dedication. On behalf of the Republican Party of Cook County, I want to thank him for his leadership and everything he has done to support Republican candidates and values,” Del Mar added.

Jokić, who is known in the community as Bodo, said that he will work on gathering Republicans in the municipality of Maine, including new voters and strengthening voter turnout in the upcoming elections. His appointment, the party assesses, represents a new step in strengthening the Republican presence in one of the most important municipalities in Cook County.

All candidates who run, whether for federal, state, or local positions in Maine township, will have to get Jokić’s blessing and support.

Let’s recall that a donor dinner was held in support of Slobodan Bodo Jokić in his candidacy for highway commissioner. On that occasion, the Serbian Times team had the exclusive opportunity to talk to Jokić about his plans, challenges, and vision for the community. You can see what he told us, as well as the reactions of the gathered Americans and Serbs, in our report from the scene.
