Srđan Milivojević, president of the Democratic Party, has filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime against Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Jorgovanka Tabaković over her conduct in approving the conversion of dinar funds into euros for Alta Bank and making a decision regarding their transfer abroad.
Milivojević also filed a complaint against “an as-yet unidentified official and responsible persons at the National Bank of Serbia and Alta Bank, whose identities and criminal actions must be established.”
During the press conference held before filing the complaint, Milivojević stated that the governor of the National Bank had approved the conversion without following the usual procedure.
A special decision approving the transfer of the converted funds, amounting to 50 million euros, to a correspondent bank abroad is currently being prepared, Milivojević explained while addressing those gathered outside the Prosecutor’s Office.
The DS president has also filed a criminal complaint against former head of state Aleksandar Vučić over information published in articles by journalists Vuk Cvijić and Milan Radonjić concerning Sky communications.
Milivojević cited messages from May this year discussing the terms of surrender, the length of a sentence, and the release of assets, with Nikola Selaković also being mentioned.
“There is some shocking information here, including a statement that the president’s brother, Andrej Vučić, met with Duško Šarić shortly before an election, and that he brought him two thousand votes,” Milivojević said.
Srđan Milivojević, president of the Democratic Party (DS), was received by a deputy prosecutor for organized crime, who stated that the Prosecutor’s Office would take all measures within its jurisdiction to verify the information submitted.
Milivojević said that the authorities had not taken action solely on the basis of the complaint filed by the DS, but that the Prosecutor’s Office had already taken steps, given the information about these cases circulating on social media.
