Officers of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, the Criminal Police Directorate’s War Crimes Investigation Service, in cooperation with police officers from the Leskovac Police Department and the Border Police Directorate at the Mutivode administrative crossing, have arrested O.S. (73) on suspicion of committing a war crime.
According to investigators, there are grounds to suspect that on June 14, 1999, in the Sofalia neighborhood of Pristina (Kosovo and Metohija), O.S., acting together with several members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), brutally and deliberately killed Serbian civilian spouses Vladimir and Presa Stanisavljević using both firearms and bladed weapons.
The suspect has been placed in custody for up to 48 hours. He was then transferred, along with a criminal complaint, to the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office. The Higher Court in Belgrade’s War Crimes Department subsequently ordered that he be held in pre-trial detention for up to 30 days.
