The First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade announced that it has ordered an urgent technical inspection of the tram that derailed and that 15 people are in medical institutions.

The duty public prosecutor of the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade attended the investigation of the traffic accident that occurred due to the tram derailing from the tracks and coming to a stop by crashing into a building, after which he ordered on the spot that an urgent technical inspection of the tram be carried out, then that the video surveillance cameras be seized, that statements be taken from the participants in the traffic accident and other citizens present, as well as that all other evidence be collected in order to determine the exact and complete factual situation, the OJT announced.

The First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that 15 people, including the tram driver, are in medical institutions for assistance.

After all necessary data is collected, a decision on further action will be made, about which the public will be informed, the prosecutor’s office stated.

According to diagnostics so far, as the Emergency Service told the N1 portal, three people were seriously injured – they sustained contusions and fractures.

As they stated, 11 people were transported to the Emergency Center, and one person to KBC Zvezdara. Among the injured are also children – two were transported to the hospital in Tiršova, the Emergency Service stated for N1.
