Bogdan Bogdanovic, as a true captain, is doing his utmost to keep the team together. Thus, during the All-Star break in Los Angeles, he hosted his teammates from the national team who currently play in the strongest league in the world.
In an interview given to “Meridian Sport,” Washington Wizards ace Tristan Vukcevic revealed that he spent the break working with Bogdan, Nikola Jovic, Topic…
“It was great! We reached an agreement, made a group, and planned to spend those 5-6 free days together. To meet up, mess around, and train. Bogdan has his own coach, and we all worked together under his leadership. It’s a very nice feeling to train with your own people. That will surely help us for the national team. And we agreed spontaneously, Bogdan brought the coach… We played a lot of one-on-one. We practiced. We went to his house in LA, ate, hung out,” said Vukcevic.
When asked who was the best in “one-on-one,” Tristan said with a smile:
“Well… Bogdan.”
Tristan also pointed out how much Bogdanovic helped him when he came to America.
“From the start, Bogdan told me that I really have to be physically strong. We saw each other when I was drafted (42nd pick, 2023, author’s note), went to lunch so I could ask him for advice. He told me the most important thing is the body. Just to work. He tells me that every month or two even now. He is very experienced. And he always wanted to help,” he says and adds:
“An absolute leader! Captain! We talk a lot, whenever I have a question, I call him. And he always answers me. He’s been through everything, Partizan, Fenerbahce, won the EuroLeague, fulfilled himself in the NBA… He was everywhere, saw everything. Realistically, it’s not bad to have him by your side,” concluded Vukcevic.
