Serbia’s water polo players recorded a victory in the final match of Group C, defeating Israel 19–9.

With this win, Serbia secured first place in the group and will carry five points into the next phase, where a new group will be formed with Hungary, Montenegro, and France.

Serbia entered the match as a clear favorite, but struggled during the first half and for most of the third quarter. However, by the end of that period the outcome was already decided, as Serbia took a five-goal lead.

The scoreboard showed 12–7, and the match was effectively over. From that point on, the only question was by what margin the game would end.

Serbia’s players remained focused until the end, extended the lead, and stepped up their defensive effort.

In the new group, which will include Hungary, Montenegro, France, Spain, and the Netherlands, Serbia carries over five points and is currently in second place.

Serbia will play its next match in two days against France, where it will be the favorite. As in the match against Israel, Serbia will again be without its best water polo player and top scorer, Dušan Mandić, who will serve the second game of his suspension due to a “brutality” call assessed against him in the match against Spain.
