Forensic teams in Switzerland are investigating the cause of the fire and identifying the victims, many of whom suffered severe burns. Local officials announced that 40 people were killed in the nightclub in Kran-Montana and that more than 115 were injured.
They state that identifying the deceased is an “absolute priority.” Regional authorities announced that among the injured are four citizens of Serbia.
Regional authorities have just announced that among those injured in yesterday’s fire in Kran-Montana are four Serbian citizens.
Unfortunately, among them is not Stafan Ivanović (31) from Valjevo, who worked as security at the bar and is still listed as missing.
At a press conference, representatives of the regional authorities announced that 113 injured persons have been identified, and that work is still ongoing on the formal identification of another six individuals.
As stated by the commander of the local police, Frederik Žisler, among the injured are 71 Swiss citizens, 14 French citizens, and 11 Italian citizens.
One citizen each of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Poland was also injured.
Žisler stated that the nationalities of 14 injured persons are still unknown.
Representatives of the regional authorities emphasize that identifying those killed in the fire is an “absolute priority” and that all police authorities in the canton of Vale have been engaged.
