The choirs and students of Novi Pazar reached out to local institutions and schools for assistance with accommodation for guests attending tomorrow’s protest in Novi Pazar, but received no response. As a result, they will arrange lodging themselves.

Selma Slezović, from the citizens’ choir of Novi Pazar, said that the halls were likely not provided due to fear and political pressure.

“There was no response at all. All schools refused to allow students to use the halls as overnight accommodation for all the guests coming, as if they were privately owned rather than belonging to all citizens,” Slezović told N1.

She added that they expect a large number of people to arrive in Pazar and that they will ensure lodging for the guests on December 21 themselves.

“We have organized ourselves and will welcome the guests, and everyone will have a place to stay,” said Slezović, adding that the people of Pazar will host them in the traditional manner with a generous spread of food.
