A self-organized group of students from the Novi Sad Faculty of Legal and Business Studies “Dr. Lazar Vrkatić” will organize a rally on Sunday, December 7th, in support of Radivoj Jovović, a representative of the Free Citizens Movement (PSG) in the Assembly of AP Vojvodina and their professor.
Jovović is an assistant professor at the faculty, and the students state that “no one is free until everyone is free.”
The rally in front of the Serbian National Theatre is announced for 10:30 AM.
Jovović was ordered into custody by a decision of the Basic Court on August 20th, which he served in the detention unit of the District Prison in Klisa.
After an appeal against that decision was accepted, Jovović has been under house arrest since August 27th.
By a decision of the Novi Sad Higher Court on November 25th, his house arrest was extended for another three months, with intensified measures.
An appeal was lodged against that decision, and lawyer Željko Kočić said on December 4th, after the extension and intensification of the detention, that Jovović was being illegally wiretapped.
