The Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, submitted an initiative to the Presidency of BiH to nominate the American president Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In the explanation of this initiative, Cvijanović pointed out that during his second term as US president, Donald Trump “with his diplomatic engagement and personal authority achieved results that left a significant mark on international relations and significantly contributed to the stabilization of numerous world crises.”
“Appreciating his efforts and achievements in the field of peace, I consider it justified and deserved for the Presidency of BiH to make a decision to nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” stated her initiative.
Cvijanović assessed that in a short period of time since taking office, Trump “proactively contributed to stopping several armed conflicts and solving serious security crises,” such as those between Armenia and Azerbaijan, India and Pakistan, Thailand and Cambodia…
She also mentioned “the indispensable role of President Trump in the efforts to achieve peace in Europe, as well as peace initiatives and an innovative approach in the Middle East, aimed at preventing a wider escalation in the region through contacts with Israel, Iran and Palestine, which contributed to strengthening the prospects for stability in one of the world’s most security-challenging regions.”
The Presidency of BiH should consider this initiative on Monday.
