Student protests are ongoing in Niš and Subotica. In the city on the Nišava river, a rally of the Movement for the People and the State is also taking place, where Ace Lukas’s concert has ended and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is currently speaking.

Throughout the day, police and veterans separated students and Vučić’s supporters in Niš, but there were no major incidents except for verbal altercations.

Students in blockade organized a protest in Subotica at multiple locations, which will last 12 hours. The protest, titled “We Are All in Subotica,” began at 2:00 PM and will last until two hours after midnight. And cyclists have just arrived at the protest.

In Niš, two gatherings are taking place – a rally of the Movement for the People and the State, where Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is currently speaking, and the “Let’s Elect (Ourselves)” protest of students in blockade demanding early parliamentary elections.

On King Alexander Square, the main part of the student protest is scheduled for 6:30 PM. A large number of people have gathered near the Faculty of Economics. The program officially starts with the welcome of students who ran to Brussels.

Participants of the SNS Rally: Students Are Destroying the State, They Are Backed by Foreign Services

The rally of the Movement for the People and the State is ongoing in Niš. An N1 reporter spoke with supporters heading to the rally and received interesting responses.

When asked about their opinion on student actions, an older man said that the “canopy is just an excuse” and that “foreign services are behind everything.” “I don’t know exactly what to expect. I expect these people to support the president in the fight against these students. I think what they are doing is not right, they are destroying the state, and what Vučić is doing is right, and I support him. The canopy is just an excuse, foreign services are behind everything… Kurti supports them, and they support him. And Vučić was in Europe, but he only defends his country,” he said.

Buses with SNS Supporters Through Student Protest

Buses transporting people to the SNS rally passed through the roundabout near the Appellate Court in Niš in the opposite direction, practically through the ongoing protest. Gendarmerie enabled their passage.

“Two sides of Serbia.”

Students and SNS supporters met at two locations in Niš, and chanting and “pump it” were heard.

Men in black caps greeted the students. Gendarmerie stood between them, and on the other side were veterans and those wearing blue vests, along with bikers, separating the two groups – SNS and students.

The column coming from the Palilula ramp found itself in a similar situation, as police officers guarded the SNS buses.
