Vukašin Crnčević, who was severely injured in the collapse of a canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station, has passed away at the Military Medical Academy (VMA) in Belgrade, students from the blockaded Svetozar Miletić Economic School, which he attended, announced. A mourning notice and a black flag at half-mast have appeared at the school. However, there is still no official confirmation of this information.
Crnčević is the 16th victim of the accident that occurred on November 1, 2024.
Students participating in the blockade also shared the news on social media.
On January 27, at the request of his mother, he was transferred from the Clinical Center of Vojvodina to the VMA in Belgrade for continued treatment.
In front of the Svetozar Miletić Economic School in Novi Sad, where Crnčević studied, a black flag was raised at half-mast, and students left messages of remembrance. Citizens are lighting candles and bringing flowers.
In Novi Sad, intersections throughout the city were blocked for 16 minutes in honor of the victims.

At Republic Square in Belgrade, 16 minutes of silence was observed.
Students of the Agricultural School in Futog blocked an intersection and paid tribute to the victims, holding 16 red balloons.
The N1 news portal reached out to the VMA for comment on the case but has yet to receive a response.
Among those seriously injured in the accident is Teodora Martinko (23) from Kisač, a young mother and medical student.
