The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has launched an investigation against Milica S. (25) based on reasonable suspicion that on January 24, 2024, around 3:00 PM, during a student blockade on Jurija Gagarina Street, she engaged in reckless and violent behavior and attempted to take the lives of multiple people, during which K.V. sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. The Prosecutor’s Office has also requested that she be placed in custody to prevent her from repeating the crime or influencing witnesses.
According to the statement, the suspect has not been interrogated by the public prosecutor, as her appointed defense attorney did not appear at the prosecutor’s office due to a suspension of lawyer activities.
The Prosecutor’s Office has suggested to the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade that Milica S. be placed in custody to prevent her from influencing witnesses, repeating the crime within a short period, and to address public unrest.
With the investigation order, it is stated that the suspect is charged with committing the criminal act of Attempted Murder under Article 114, Paragraph 1, Points 2 and 11, in relation to Article 30 of the Criminal Code.

“There are grounds for suspicion that Milica S. committed the criminal act by driving a ‘Citroen’ vehicle, first stopping the car due to the large number of students and other citizens blocking the roadway as part of the protest called ‘General Strike’. At the moment when several students dressed in yellow and orange fluorescent vests, performing the duties of stewards, were in front of her vehicle, she suddenly, arrogantly and violently accelerated the vehicle and quickly moved towards the students standing in front of her car,” the Prosecutor’s Office states.
The suspect, as described in the statement, hit the victim K.T. with the front of the vehicle, who was standing in front of the car with a megaphone in hand. As a result of the impact, K.T. was thrown onto the car’s hood and then onto the windshield, after which she was thrown to the ground on the left side and hit her head on the curb, sustaining serious life-threatening injuries.

Additionally, it is stated that during the same incident, the suspect hit the victim V.M. with the front left part of the vehicle, throwing him onto the hood and then tossing him to the left side. He fell to the ground, and the suspect continued driving at high speed, leaving the victims without assistance, heading towards a large group of students and citizens, endangering their safety and peace, before being stopped by the students and citizens present.
