Crvena zvezda lost to Monaco in their third Champions League group stage match at the Stade Louis II in Monaco by a score of 5-1.
Goals for the home side were scored by Minamino in the 21st and 70th minutes, Embolo in added time of the first half, Singo in the 54th minute, and Akliyuš in the final seconds of the match.
Zvezda’s only goal was scored by Sherif in the 27th minute from the penalty spot.
The Red-Whites thus recorded their third defeat and remain without points, while Monaco, with this victory, reached seven points.
In the next round on November 6th, Crvena zvezda will host Barcelona.
Zvezda matched the home side in the first half.
Right at the beginning, the Red-Whites suffered a big blow when Duarte was injured in the fifth minute. Dalsio came on in his place.
The home side took the lead with a goal from Minamino in the 21st minute, Zvezda’s defense fell asleep, and the Japanese player calmly scored.
Just six minutes later, Zvezda equalized. Šerif was fouled in the home team’s penalty area, the same player took the penalty and scored with a shot under the crossbar for 1-1.
A controversial moment in the 42nd minute when Olajinka was fouled in the home team’s penalty area, but no penalty was awarded.
In added time of the first half, Spajić made a mistake, and Embolo restored Monaco’s lead.
In the second half, the home side dominated, and the Red-Whites completely fell apart.
Singo scored a fantastic goal in the 54th minute, and Minamino scored the final goal in the 70th minute after Rodić slipped in his own penalty area.
Monaco missed a few more chances to completely humiliate their opponents, so in the end, Zvezda was lucky to get away with it.
