The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina can overcome its current political and constitutional crisis through open and sincere internal dialogue, supported by its closest regional partners.

‘I call upon Serbia and Croatia, as signatories of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to engage – together with BiH authorities – in discussions aimed at restoring the Dayton Agreement and safeguarding the constitutionally guaranteed rights of its constituent peoples, which have been severely eroded under the guise of constructing a so-called functional state that serves the interests of only one people’, Cvijanović emphasized.

She underscored that preserving peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina must be the highest priority – something that can only be ensured through equal rights for all its peoples and respect for the role of its entities.

‘I strongly believe that the reaffirmation of BiH’s true sovereignty can only be achieved through the democratic functioning of its institutions, free from the abuse of legal mechanisms and the judiciary, and without the brutal, undemocratic methods employed by unelected foreign officials, who do not represent a single voter in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Moreover, I firmly believe that this process should take place under the strong leadership of President Donald Trump’s administration, as I am convinced that only this administration can effectively reverse the damaging legacy left by various bureaucrats and globalist elites, whose interventions have turned Bosnia and Herzegovina into a failed political project’, Cvijanović stressed.

As noted by the Serb member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency in her statement, all past crises in BiH have been a direct consequence of the unlawful imposition of decisions by High Representatives, and that these must now be repealed.

Cvijanović further emphasized the need to restore the role of High Representatives to the strict framework outlined in Annex 10 of the Dayton Agreement, while also helping the residents of both entities – regardless of ethnicity or religion – regain trust in their institutions.

‘I also call on EUFOR and NATO to increase their presence and assist domestic authorities in safeguarding peace and ensuring long-term stability’, Cvijanović concluded.
