After six days of walking and an incredible 300 kilometers crossed from the Gračanica monastery, Ivan Mladenović arrived at Ostrog to bow before the relics of the great saint, but also to pray for the health of little Jana Tirkajlo, who needs our support and help.
“Rain, fatigue, painful steps, and roads that seem endless. But, when you know who you are walking for, there is no giving up. From Gračanica to Ostrog, I carried only one wish, and that is for as many people as possible to unite for Jana. If this pilgrimage of mine managed to move even one person to help, then it was worth every step,” Ivan told RINA.
Jana has been diagnosed with a lack of bone growth in length. The disease was confirmed by genetic testing. Jana needs therapy with vosoritide (Voxzogo), the only medicine that affects the cause of the disease and allows children with achondroplasia to grow and develop without severe complications, Ivan tells RINA.
He adds that given the severity of her health condition and the need for continuous treatment, therapies, diagnostics, and supervision, the family is unable to provide all the necessary funds themselves, which is why they are appealing to all humane people for help in the form of donations.
