Students of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at the 32nd Balkan Olympiad in Informatics held in Italy.
The gold medal was won by Petar Banović, the silver by Uroš Kostadinović, and the bronze by Stefan Šebez and Sofija Čebašek.
The team leader was Toni Škrijelj from the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad, while the deputy leader was Miloš Milutinović from the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade.
At the Balkan Olympiad in Udine, 48 competitors from 12 countries took part.
The selection of competitors, preparations, and participation in the competition were organized by the Mathematical Society of Serbia, with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications.
“Our team prepared intensively during this year’s competition cycle, participating in a preparatory camp in Zagreb and in preparatory competitions such as the Central European Olympiad in Informatics (CEOI), held in Romania, which resulted in one of the best achievements at the Balkan Olympiad,” the Mathematical Society of Serbia said in a statement.
