Today, following the snap parliamentary elections, the Forum for Security and Democracy (FBD) called on Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić to call snap presidential elections without further delay.

In its statement, the Forum warned the public and Ana Brnabić that, through her failure to act so far, she had already stepped outside the constitutional and legal framework governing the calling of elections.

According to the FBD, any further delay in this key institutional step risks further destabilizing the political situation in the country, which, following the Serbian Progressive Party’s admission of electoral defeat, is only now in a position to begin returning to normal.

The Forum called on the public prosecutor’s office to urgently and fully investigate all recorded security incidents during yesterday’s election day, with the full cooperation of the Ministry of the Interior.

Sanctioning everyone who took part in those incidents, as well as those who organized them, is crucial to preserving the integrity of the electoral process, the FBD stated. It also called for the immediate and definitive publication of the complete list of all individuals pardoned by former President Aleksandar Vučić in his latest decision, dated September 27.
