Doctors and nurses from the Health Center in Čačak were informed today that they should begin shifts outside the Munjino Brdo tunnel on the new section of the Pakovraće – Požega highway, Beta news agency unofficially reports.

For these tunnel shifts, which are currently on a voluntary basis, three nurses have signed up, but no doctors have yet volunteered.

Unapproved Section Raises Safety Concerns

Doctors and nurses on tunnel duty will receive daily allowances, but the exact amount for doctors has not yet been communicated.

According to unofficial information, in addition to medical professionals from Čačak, teams from the Užice Health Center will also be on duty along the new highway section.

The Serbian government recently adopted a decree that, according to some interpretations, suspends the Rulebook on Tunnel Safety, with the obligation to ensure 24-hour duty for emergency services, firefighters, police, and emergency medical assistance.
