German police arrested a man (72) originally from Serbia on suspicion of killing his wife (67) in their apartment in the city of Hamelin, Lower Saxony.
According to German media reports, the crime occurred on March 26, and the arrested Serbian man came to a police station in Germany on his own.
-The Serbian man walked into the police station and said that his wife had passed away in the apartment. However, during questioning, inspectors concluded that the spouses had argued, and the suspect admitted “that he put his hands on the woman’s neck,” which is why it is suspected that he strangled the woman – German media reports.
As they further state, citing sources from the prosecution, after the killer turned himself in, the police went to the apartment of the Serbian married couple.
-A body was found in the apartment, and the Emergency Medical team attempted resuscitation, but in vain; the woman was already dead – sources state, adding that the Serbian man was arrested and that the prosecutor ordered an autopsy of the body.
