As N1 learns from diplomatic sources, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Antonio Tajani, was supposed to fly out this morning from Rome, but that flight was canceled at the last minute immediately before takeoff.
N1 sources say that this is very unusual in pre-scheduled visits, especially since the Serbian protocol that was supposed to organize the reception was already at the Nikola Tesla Airport.
For now, the exact reason for this unusually canceled visit by the Italian foreign minister is unknown.
The website of the President of Serbia stated only the following: “The announced meeting between the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy, Antonio Tajani, which was supposed to be held today, April 1, 2026, is being postponed. The new date of the meeting will be announced later.”
That meeting was previously announced for today at 11:15 a.m., at the Palace of Serbia.
