The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited today the Center for Palliative Care of the Clinic for Pulmonology of the University Clinical Center of Serbia (UKCS), which is located within the former COVID hospital in Batajnica, and which will admit its first patients on Monday.
Commenting on the statement by the Minister for European Integration, Nemanja Starović, that Serbia is ready to impose sanctions on Russia a few months before joining the EU, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that there would be no sanctions against Russia and that the principled policy would not change.
“Minister Starović spoke a bit differently, but he certainly spoke carelessly. I am sorry that our friends in the Russian media can’t wait to find something to criticize Serbia for. I am sorry that we have many people on our political scene who are quicker to jump to defend Russians than they would ever jump to defend Serbia. I must disappoint them, Serbia will not impose sanctions on Russia, Serbia is not changing its principled policy, we will continue with an independent policy even if many do not like it either in the West or in the East,” Vučić specified.
