Parents gathered this morning in front of the Ninth Belgrade Gymnasium to support students and teachers in blockade.
Last night, parents gathered in front of the Ninth Belgrade Gymnasium, after the principal, as students informed the public, brought a group of unknown people to the school. Therefore, parents are organizing a support rally for students and teachers in blockade this morning as well.
Student Dunja Blagojević told N1 that around 7 pm they received a call from a student on duty, who said that about twenty unknown people had entered the school with the principal.
“She couldn’t recognize them as parents or staff. That scared her, she asked the teachers, they didn’t know anything. We were concerned about the secrecy of the meeting that was held in the ceremonial hall in semi-darkness. We called the parents, because the principal had previously threatened to call the police, we had reason to worry,” she says.

Student Marta Grujić points out that the principal decided that classes should continue, “despite their decision at the plenum to blockade for 24 hours.”
“She threatened to call the police. Currently, one teacher is holding a class, we are trying to block that, because the idea of the blockade is that classes are not held, the idea is to put pressure on the authorities so that student demands are met as soon as possible,” she says.
Blagojević notes that they do not have data on the number of students and teachers who want classes to continue, but claims that this is a minority.
“This gathering is scheduled to last about an hour, but is subject to change depending on how the situation develops,” she points out.
