Students in the Blockade from Niš announced that police have begun calling students in connection with tomorrow’s gathering at Crveni Pevac, and that two have already been to the Police Department.

The students called on citizens to gather because of the session of the SNS Main Board being held at the National Theatre in Niš, which Aleksandar Vučić will also attend.

“We are informing the public that two students were at the Police Department today for a so-called ‘informational interview,’ after a colleague was called this morning and asked to go to the police regarding the gathering announced for tomorrow. Our colleagues did not answer the maliciously posed questions by the head of the Police Department and other officers,” the students said in a statement.

They stated that they expect the police to continue calling in other students and citizens.

“For this reason, we appeal to everyone who is contacted by the police to immediately inform their colleagues or fellow citizens and, without prior consultation, not to make statements or provide any information regarding tomorrow’s gathering. We wish to point out that there is a possibility that, if you fail to respond to the summons, you may be detained. We therefore consider it important that the public be informed about the way students and citizens are currently being treated by the police,” the statement says.

The students called on everyone to “be cautious, exchange information with one another, and inform us without delay if they are contacted or summoned to the Police Department.”

“We will not allow students and citizens to be individually intimidated and questioned. See you tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at Crveni Pevac,” the statement reads.

We remind you that the session of the SNS Main Board will be held tomorrow at the National Theatre in Niš, which Aleksandar Vučić is also expected to attend.

The students have called for a gathering at Crveni Pevac at 10:30 a.m.
