SNS thug from Kosjerić, Slobodan Đukić, has surrendered to the police in Kosjerić and was conducted to the remand prison in Požega, where he was brought before an investigating judge who ordered a 30-day detention, OzonPress writes.
Last Thursday, in the office of municipal president Žarko Đokić, Đukić beat Zoran Jovanović, who had come to the office to ask when the street from which the asphalt was removed before last year’s local elections would be repaired, OzonPress reminds.
Following the attack, Đukić went on the run and the police allegedly could not find him. Because of this, citizens of Kosjerić gathered for days in front of the municipality, which led to special police forces besieging Kosjerić for days.
“Knowing that Slobodan Đukić is a multiple repeat offender in committing criminal acts, we expect the institutions to act in accordance with the law and order detention. Especially having in mind the serious threats he addressed to local activists. Otherwise, the question arises, what message are the institutions sending to citizens? Does it mean that violence, threats, and intimidation are allowed if you have political protection?
Citizens expect the law to apply equally to everyone and that no one be above it. If institutions do not do their job, the people’s trust in justice will be further eroded,” states the announcement from the Citizens’ Association ‘Čisti ljudi’.
