The state of emergency is still in force in 11 municipalities. Milorad Spasojević from the Sector for Emergency Situations said that the biggest problem is the interruption of electricity supply, RTS reports.
“About 6,450 consumers are without electricity. The most difficult situation is in the Zlatibor, Kolubara, Moravica, and Mačva districts,” Spasojević said.
According to RTS, the Sector for Emergency Situations, together with the Republic Directorate for Commodity Reserves and the Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center, has sent 19 generators of various capacities to these areas.
Firefighters-rescuers have intervened 102 times in dealing with the consequences of adverse weather conditions from January 4 until today, and 38 people have been evacuated.
A session of the Republic Emergency Situations Headquarters has been scheduled for 12 noon.
TEMPERATURES BELOW ZERO ACROSS ALL OF SERBIA
All of Serbia woke up to below-zero temperatures, with the coldest conditions in the mountains, particularly on Kopaonik where -17 was recorded, while among cities the lowest temperatures were in Kikinda and Sjenica, at minus 10 degrees.
According to the Republic Hydrometeorological Service (RHMZ), based on data from 6:09 a.m., the temperature in Belgrade was -5, the same as in Niš and Kragujevac, while it was even colder in Novi Sad, at eight degrees below zero.
On Crni Vrh, where a snowstorm was recorded, -13 was measured this morning, and on Zlatibor -11.
Under the orange weather alert, which indicates dangerous weather phenomena, this morning are Belgrade, Bačka, Banat, Srem, Western Serbia, Southwestern Serbia, and Kosovo and Metohija.
DEPUTY MUNICIPAL PRESIDENT IN SJENICA: ALL VILLAGES WILL RECEIVE ELECTRICITY DURING THE MORNING
Electricity supply in Sjenica is more stable, the RTS reporter reports.
All power lines are operational, while in some villages one phase is currently missing. Deputy President of the Municipality of Sjenica Radiša Knežević said that all villages will receive electricity during the morning.
Roads leading to 15 villages are still snowed in, and crews are on the ground.
The municipality announces that the state of emergency will remain in force until the situation stabilizes. Several snow removal vehicles are out of order.
Let us recall that the fault on the Arilje–Ivanjica power line, due to which the entire municipality had been without electricity since Saturday evening, was repaired yesterday.
