The President of the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, stated that there was never a common will for BiH to fight against international intervention, and that now this intervention is costing the very concept of BiH its life.
-It has made the country impossible, and left the Bosniaks as political minors, without the ability to make decisions independently – Dodik pointed out in an interview for Politika.
According to him, the Bosniak stance was based on the understanding that foreigners are constantly fulfilling their wishes, but all of this belongs to a legacy that will make Bosnia a totally backward country.
-The only thing left for us Serbs is to save ourselves from that sinking ship. It is completely irrelevant whether the OHR will be there or not. We have shown that one can not only fight against such things, but that development can also be secured in that not at all equal fight – said Dodik.
Even if, as he said, international intervention were to stop today, it leaves behind a lot of mess in BiH, and that it would be naive to expect that someone from their side will tidy up that mess.
-If their plan was to disorganize BiH, then Schmidt, with the help of international ignorance, did a great job. They liked managing someone else’s country, producing problems, and now, as we have heard, some are beginning to realize that. Certain ones saw it even earlier – Russia and China, for example – and now America is noticing it too, while it does not suit Great Britain and Germany to see it. We stand by the position that the fight against tutelage is essentially a fight for national freedom – Dodik said.
He pointed out that Republika Srpska must look at how to additionally strengthen relations with the new US administration, which has a different way of observing the world and they are not globalists, but realists.
-Our people are constantly on flights across the Atlantic. I was in Chicago a few days ago, then in Moscow, now I am going to Russia again, then to a European country – said Dodik.
Regarding the frequent visits of the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljka Cvijanovic, to the United States of America, Dodik said that there are also visits that the public does not follow.

-We will try to do a few more things. We deal with the affairs of Republika Srpska, much of it is connected to its international status. We are trying to build a position – there are gains, but also some losses, such as the outcome related to our friend Viktor Orban, which hit us. At the end of the year, Srpska will send its ambassador to the UN. Zlatko Lagumdzija made quite a nice overture for us, acting past all the stances of BiH – Dodik stated.
Regarding the State Department’s assessment that the announcement of Christian Schmidt’s withdrawal “comes at the right moment” while Schmidt announces a decision on property by the end of the year, Dodik said that it is possible that some still give themselves importance, but that it is important to know that state property does not exist.
-That was resolved in the Dayton Agreement – property belongs to the entities. We will not be subtenants in Republika Srpska, nor will they succeed in doing anything. If they go down that path, I will advocate for our parliament to make a decision on the independence of Republika Srpska. Any country would act the same if its Constitution and internationally guaranteed autonomy were attacked – Dodik is clear.
They do not know, he noted, who the new High Representative will be, but whoever that may be, they probably won’t be essentially different and Republika Srpska must be asked.
-We heard such tones in the UN Security Council as well – Russia insists on it, and America is also looking for a broader consensus. Should we now counter them and listen to Britain, which has been creating problems for us for two centuries – Dodik stated.
He repeated that the stance of Republika Srpska is that a High Representative is not needed by BiH at all and pointed out that the Serb people gain nothing from BiH, whatever it may be like, except for the endangering of their own freedom, an imposed yoke, and procedures that stop it.
-We have fallen into a complete civilizational misunderstanding with the Bosniaks. We have been in a political misunderstanding for a long time. BiH has failed, and you cannot revive a corpse – Dodik emphasizes.
He stated that Sarajevo is blocking and sabotaging the institutions of Republika Srpska in building the gas pipeline, the “Buk Bijela” hydroelectric power plant, the airport in Trebinje…
-All of that could have been built long ago, and even today it waits, while we absolutely do not want to stop any project in the FBiH. We remain firmly committed to our gas pipeline towards Serbia and cooperation with Russian partners, although we have also offered the Americans some kind of cooperation – Dodik said among other things.
