After a whale was spotted yesterday in the bay near Herceg Novi, a new video of the large marine mammal near Dubrava, near Bar, appeared today.

As Podgorički Vremeplov reports, this aerial footage was also taken yesterday, and it shows the whale calmly swimming close to the surface as it emerges to breathe air.

As a reminder, yesterday the Institute of Marine Biology from Kotor published a video of a whale in the Bay of Herceg Novi.

The Institute asked all owners of sports and recreational boats to be as careful as possible, reduce speed, and avoid approaching the animal.

“Let’s respect nature and not disturb this marine giant!” they stated in a Facebook post.

Whales in the Adriatic Sea, although rare, are not an unheard-of phenomenon. Species such as the blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) and humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) occasionally visit this part of the Mediterranean, but encounters mostly happen in the open sea, and less frequently in narrow bays or near the coast.
