Top officials of Republika Srpska have stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina is experiencing its biggest political crisis since the signing of the Dayton Agreement and that the only solution lies in a new agreement or a peaceful separation.
They emphasized that Christian Schmidt has caused the greatest crisis by making unconstitutional decisions. Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik declared that BiH is in a state of permanent crisis and insisted that the only solution is “a new agreement or to part ways.”
“What we are witnessing in BiH is a typical abuse of the judiciary. The Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH are not constitutional entities. This is an attempt to expel political leaders of Republika Srpska and decapitate its government. Despite this, the security situation remains stable, and there are no major challenges now, nor will there be,” Dodik emphasized in a statement for RTRS.
The Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, described the situation as “schizophrenic”, particularly due to constant threats from the Federation of BiH.
“The sequence of events has led to a deep political crisis, caused by Christian Schmidt and the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH,” Cvijanović stressed.
